RescueTime Secures Series A
RescueTime, the self-dubbed “ridiculously easy time management and analytics software” company, today announced on the company blog and on TechCrunch that it closed $900k series A round of funding. Total funding now $920k. The freemium-based time managent company received $20k seed funding from Y Combinator earlier this year.
True Ventures led the round. True Ventures’ portfolio companies also include WordPress, GigaOm and Meebo. Angels include Tim Ferriss, Mike Koss, Chris Sacca, Mike Seckler.
RescueTime, based in Seattle, makes web-based time management software that tracks a user’s activity on the computer. The “freemium” application keeps track of which window is “in focus,” logs the duration of activity in that window. RescueTime also has an idle timer that pauses tracking when the users steps away from the computer.
While RescueTime continues to focus entirely on product development and has yet to spend any money on marketing, it already boasts 100,000+ users and is doubling the user base every six months.
