Why Twitter Matters

Check out #3 on the chart below. That’s Twitter. The most visited social network that’s not Facebook or MySpace.

While this graphic shows Twitter as just ahead of Flixter, LinkedIn and the rest, consider how significantly under counted Twitter’s visits actually are. Compete measures web traffic. Consider that only 32 percent of Twitter’s users are actually hitting the web page. The vast majority are accessing Twitter via its API though apps or SMS.
