Facebook Takes Top Spot in Monthly Attention
For the first time, Facebook overtook the top spot in Monthly Attention (time spent as a percentage of total time spent online by U.S. Internet users), commanding nearly 6% of all time spent online by Americans in the month of February.
Google and Facebook continue up and to the right on the graph below, but perhaps more compelling than Facebook overtaking Yahoo! is the trajectory of MySpace. As recently as July ‘07 — according to compete.com — MySpace accounted for 13% of time spent online. Today it is less than 2% and declining.
